Issue Date: 2002
Abstract: Investigation of vehicle's response to road roughness is especially important from the aspect of solving the problems connected to dynamic endurance of elements and structures of the vehicle. In this paper, the road roughness is considered as a source of nonlinear vibration of motor vehicle. The vehicle is represented by an equivalent spatial model having eight degrees of freedom. A quasi-linearization of nonlinear differential equations of motion is conducted. Eigenfrequencies and modal matrix of the linearized vibration system are determined. Solutions of quasi-linear differential equations of forced vibrations are determined by making use of the small parameter method. As a result, time dependencies, phase curves and spectral densities of generalized phase coordinates are shown.
