Abstract: During extreme exploitation conditions, emergency stopping or driving on long downhill’s, serious damages can be appeared in the brake system, which are consequence of high temperatures. The aim of the research paper is to present the stresses that generated as a result of the sliding between the brake disc and brake pads during the vehicle braking process on the horizontal road. Where high amount of the will be converted into heat that appeared on the contacting surfaces. The case study in this work when the vehicle speed until the brake activation is 120 km/h. The numerical analysis is conducted using ANSYS/14.5 software, where it was analyzed the problem during the whole process of braking to find the solution at any instant of time (Transient- Structural analysis). During the braking process, the maximum temperatures have been appeared on braking pads, but the very important point from the aspect of reliability and functionality of this system, is that temperatures trough brake pads are not high, and the temperature at the 2 mm depth of braking pads, is lower for 40 ℃.
